Hotel Paradiso

 

Set in a superb quiet position dominating the bay of Viticcio the Hotel Paradiso enjoys the island's most spectacular sunsets.

Owner-managed, the hotel is surrounded by trees and flowers overlooking the sea. The complex is composed of several chalet type constructions, the main building houses the reception, the bar and restaurant. Almost all face the seaor have sea views, a terrace or balcony.

2006: the Hotel will re-open mid April and close in October offering clients Halfboard (Bed, buffet breakfast with sweets and savouries and evening meal with choice of menu -table service) or Bed and Buffet Breakfast. For lunch snacks are available on the terrace during the summer season.

The bar with its large terrace entices you to a delicious "Happy Hour" drink and the beautiful sunsets with views of the distant islands of Corsica and Capraia.

The restaurant, panoramic and comfortably air-conditioned, offers a local cuisine with fresh and wholesome dishes to suit everyone's taste. At lunchtime snacks served on the terrace.

The rooms all en-suite, direct telephone, Sat-TV, air conditioning or fan during the summer, heating during the cooler months of the year, hairdryer and safetydeposit box. Most have a balcony or terrace and independent entrance.

Amongst the services offered: lounge with Sat-TV and video, table tennis, pool and sun umbrellas, tennis court, car park (covered for bikes/motor bikes), children's play area. All services are free of charge.

The pool with its solarium terrace overlooking the splendid Viticcio gulf has sun beds and umbrellas at clients disposal free of charge.

The beach: directly below the hotel a pebble and sand cove - complimentary deckchairs in season - a crystal clear sea, ideal for snorkelling. The 'Paradiso' is the nearest hotel to the renowned (Blue Guide) beaches of Sansone and Capo Enfola. Close by Prunini, Capo Bianco and Biodola.

Sport and amusements: Within walking distance Capo Enfola offers mooring buoys, a slipway, a jetty for dinghies and a well organised diving school. For lovers of trekking and mountain bikes the area offers pathways through the Mediterranean woods to the beaches of Forno, Scaglieri and Biodola. A stroll to the Capo Enfola promontory to visit the abandoned tuna- fishing factory (presently undergoing restoration work) - continue a pleasant path up the hill and visit the National Park's "open air museum". Simple but relaxing pastimes!

Only 4 km distant, Portoferraio - the island's capital city, 11.000 inhabitants - the old town centre a popular place for shopping and perusing with its old churches and Napoleon's museum, the delightful "Foresi" picture gallery, the Linguella museum and lots of other interesting things only waiting to be discovered. In high season the streets become animated with small markets and music.

Excursions and rentals: the reception staff will be happy to book for you boat trips, ferry tickets - cars, motorbikes, mopeds, mountain bikes and boats - all can be hired through them. They will be happy to assist and advise you. Special prices for the 'Terme di San Giovanni'.

Once again the 'Guida Blu' 2005 has given their award for the best beaches in Portoferraio to Sansone and Enfola. Our hotel is the nearest to these beaches - both are within walking distance!!
